New officials will be required to register with USA Hockey, pass USA Hockey’s open-book, online exam, pass a written exam and attend a training session. Certified Ice Hockey Officials earn between $18 and $45 per game and must be at least 12 years old. Being an on-ice official is a great way to earn a little extra money and learn even more about the great sport of ice hockey.
