Welcome to my online pond. This blog is dedicated to true fans of amateur hockey everywhere. Feel free to skate around, read the playbooks, talk to the coaches, scream at the officials, and throw a body check or two. If you’re feeling a little reckless you could try to steal my puck but you better have a good stance and some quick feet or you may miss your next shift.
Hockey is without a doubt the greatest game every played. I have been involved in ice hockey since I was five and have played, coached, watched, parented, and officiated for three wonderful decades. I love the game and had to create a blog to discuss my passion. I still play, coach, watch, parent, and officiate and serve on several hockey related boards. I am a USA Hockey Level 4 certified coach and am entering my second year as an official along with my 14-year-old son.
I really don’t have an overall master plan for this site so things may get a little messy while we play a little scrimmage. Feel free to post any comments (no locker room talk) and share your plays, ideas, rule clarifications, strategies, pictures, video, etc. I would be happy to provide reciprocal links to any hockey related website so if you want some extra attention to your blog or site, send me an e-mail.
Thanks for dropping by and remember to keep your head up when you go into the corners.
